7/25 Annie's new "trick"

I was waiting for Chris to come home the other night, and Annie started scratching at the couch for me to pick her up.  We don't to encourage this behavior so I pushed her Western Bed between her and the couch.  Then she started humping it.  We've seen her do this before, but not with any regularity.  Well, now she will practically do it on command.

Annie Bear is insatiable.

7/24 - JNJ Burger N BBQ

Chris and I tried a new BBQ place down the street from the new place.  Chris was impressed by the pulled pork.  He gives it the high distinction of "best pulled pork in CA".

7/23 Chris and Michelle at La Dijonaise

Chris and I signed the lease to our new place in Culver City.  We tried out a restaurant a block from the new place.

Ernaga, this one is for you...

Today I received an email from an old friend who rarely writes and never calls. Ironically, he called me out for not updating the blog in a timely fashion. I will admit that it's been a long time, but it's strange that Marc of all people would notice.

I'll attempt to recap the last two months of our lives in one entry.

Over Memorial Day weekend Chris and I decided to visit the most expensive and crowded place possible, so we packed up and went to Hawaii. We used miles on American and were lucky enough to score 1st class seats on the way there. It was nice to sit back and relax after busy days at work. We were greated with warm nuts and all the alcohol we could consume.

Our first day in Honolulu was spent eating spam, surfing, and checking out all the tourist destinations. Surf lessons were not successful mostly due to our teachers (it couldn't be our clumsy selves, could it?). They took us to a beach across from Ala Moana shopping center. Low tide + coral reef + wipe out = lots of cuts and bruises for Michelle.

Later that night we went to eat hot pot in deep Honolulu. Chris was the only white person there and the only person brave enough to order the spicy option. This caused quite a commotion.

On Sunday we rented a death trap known as a Geo Tracker to drive around island. To give you an idea of this gem keep in mind that the top almost flew off while driving down the freeway and my seatbelt was tied in a knot since it was almost split in half. We had a great time drivng down the island and visiting the North Shore. We visited a botanical garden and swam in a lake with a waterfall. I was almost attacked by wild chickens and we both were warned to stay away by an angry peacock (those things are scary).
The whole month of June was spent recovering from our trip to the Aloha State. We spent a lot of time at home catching up on sleep, Charlie and Annie time, and reality tv (for me).

With our lease up in August and my lack of patience, I started look for a new place for the Humphreys family to live. Both Chris and I have 45 minute commutes to work, so we thought we should find a place a little closer to Downtown LA and Beverly Hills. We really love the location of our current apartment, but it is pretty expensive. This was a pretty exhaustive search. We've really gotten used to walking to restaurants, movie theatres, and grocery stores.

We found a place on craigslist (naturally) located in Culver City. It's about one block from one of our favorite restaurants (Father's Office). Chris is really looking forward to the move because his commute will go from 45 minutes to 18 minutes. I know Annie will like the new place because it has a HUGE deck so she can sunbathe during the day.

I spent a long weekend in DC to visit some old friends and their kids. A weekend with a 3.5 year old and 16 month old really made me miss the dogs. Even on their most rowdy day, they are nothing compared to toddlers.

That's about it for now. We have made plans to travel to TN in September. Hopefully it won't be too hot for a par-tay!

Here some some pictures from the past two months:

Hey chicken, be nice to me. I'm a vegetarian.

This is what happens when you don't use your blinker.

This isn't a mistake - we ordered crickets for lunch.

Catching up!

Give me treats. A new dog bed. They appreciate me in Beacon, NY. Eyebrows. A new friend. That'...
