Hello Mr. Blog. Long time, no write.

Looking at the date of my last entry, it sure has been a long time since I've updated this thing. Let's travel back in time to reminisce over the last month.

December was pretty much a blur, and most of our readers were with us during that time, so I won't spend any time on the holidays.

Chris and I were nursing colds during the first week of January, and that was a tough way to start off 2009. We both went back to work and tried to get into a routine. Well, my routine didn't last too long. On January 14th at 5:00pm, I was let go from my job at Oakwood. I had been there for exactly 89 days, and it was a difficult time. I was dealing with an incredible amount of emotions ranging from sadness to bitterness to anger. After supportive conversations with friends and family, the best advice I got was to stay active and not to just lounge around the house all day.

I have spent a lot of my free time at the gym. The 24 Hour Fitness in Beverly Hills has some great cycling, pilates, and yoga instructors. I get up with Chris every day, get him off to work, and then hit the gym. It's a great way to channel my energy and get my mind off of my current situation. Not to mention I can get into better physical shape, and it doesn't cost any additional money since we paid for the membership up front.

I also get to spend some quality time with our two fur babies. The dogs have gotten some nice trips to the beach and the dog park in the middle of the day with my new work schedule. Poor Annie Bear strained her hip on our last big walk, and she currently has a limp. I'm sure the extra weight doesn't help the strain on her joints, so we've cut back on her food while she is on the disabled list.

Chris has been extra supportive as the bread winner in the family. Work has kept him busy this week while his team finishes up a big project. His boss was nice enough to give them some comp time, and he is looking forward to a long weekend. He will be catching up on sleep as well as tv. :-)

Not much else is going on with us. The next couple of weeks will be pretty uneventful. We are planning on attending a birthday party with a friend of mine from elementary school (you read that right...we've known each other for 23 years). We will also be meeting our friends Rusty and Donna for dinner.

That's all for now. I'm sure this doesn't do justice to the past 6 weeks, but now that I have all of this free time on my hands, I'll be updating this more and more.

Ciao for now...
